The Wind/Concert Band of Covilhã was reorganized on 1 December 1944. Its history includes important events in world music, culture and arts in the City of Covilhã. In 1992, suffers a tragic accident, where a strong fire reduced to ashes in its entire history and heritage. The motto at the time "A Banda Ardeu, Mas Não Morreu" ended up in less than six months the musicians could go off the street thanking the generosity of the population.

Currently experiencing a period of intense activity resulting from the launch of several projects. Its main activities are primarily the School of Music, Values and Talents, following the Wind Band and Symphonic Band from Covilhã, the latter working in stages. Is your Artistic Director Prof. Eduardo Cavaco. Incorporates students and staff musicians at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) and the Vocational School of Arts Covilhã (EPABI).

Several  projects  mark the day-to-day of this band: Concerts theme, Spring, Summer and Christmas, Fashion and Music, Gala Concert - City of Covilhã. For the youngest: Holiday Do-Re-Mi; Fa-Sol-La; stages of the youth orchestra, sleep with the music; First Sounds, etc..

In terms or recreational organizations, is involved in carrying out the following events: Festival of Cherovia, Carnival Snow; "With Band of Covilhã the Saints Dance"; Brincolândia, etc..
Believes that music can transform people in a positive way, and therefore seeks to convey a message of hope through the world of sounds. Join Us!
